[Yes. That's absolutely the reason this guy bugs him. Totally. The metaphors.]
Wait. What do you mean the charm's there on purpose?
no subject
Well. He had to live on Earth for eleven years until it was time so to speak. The Boss wouldn't want his kid getting someone all uppity and chance harming him. Got to make him amenable. Unsuspecting.
no subject
Well no wonder he ended up liking humanity, anyone would if almost everyone was nice to you. [coughSPOILEDcough.]
no subject
I'm sure he had some people who didn't like him.
I'm sensing a lot of bitterness.
no subject
What? I'm not bitter!
no subject
no subject
I've gotten testy about plenty of people before!

[But he stops for a moment, what with Crowley hitting it on the head and all. You can almost hear that shameful admittance in the text]
- No, you're right. Usually I try to give people more of a chance.
no subject
[It's a genuine question. He means no malice. ]
no subject
[But yet, he couldn't shake these feelings. The feelings of dislike, of jealousy and of resentment. Adam was an intrusion and a threat to the little scraps of life that Allen had built for himself. Scraps left from the last times someone came and ruined everything.]
[He thinks about lying. About saying nevermind, he's fine and he'll be nicer to Adam. But he knows Crowley will probably call him on his bluff. It's better to be honest.]
It's just-
He shows up out of nowhere with that stupid smile and charm of his. He says he's known you longer than I've known you and he's from your world. And on top of that he sounds far stronger than I'll ever be. I mean, he saved the world when he was eleven? My biggest accomplishment when I was eleven was being able to shuffle a deck of cards after months of struggling with physical therapy!
[Even if that wasn't the exact root of the problem, it was still an irritation. And that's not even getting into the whole how easily Adam just decided to be good. Ugh.]
I know he hasn't done anything, and I know it's not right for me to give him a chance. It's just...The last time someone like that suddenly appeared in my life, always smiling and knowing people I've care about all along, I-
I ended up losing things that I never thought I could lose.
no subject
But it is Allen, and even Crowley can recognise that this is a crucial moment. That, perhaps above any other time before, Allen absolutely and positively needs him right now. And this can't be glossed over by idle banter and some bummed cigarettes.]
Okay, first off. I've known you longer than him. By the time I found him, the end of the world was starting. I've known him, technically, for about four hours? Unless you count the time as a newborn as well. I wouldn't, personally. He's known me longer, being all grown up now, which is quite frankly a mindfuck I'm still trying to deal with, but for me? He was a kid I knew for a small amount of time who just happened to be the center of potential world collapse.
And in case you missed it already: he's the fucking son of Satan. He had all that potential pre-programmed into him. A literal bomb that just needed to grow up enough to learn how to set itself off. Everything else about him was regular, boring middle class human. Trust me. Comparing yourself to him would be like comparing yourself to Jesus. Except the opposite direction. Don't do that, it's stupid.
You're not going to 'lose' me, if that's what you're worried about. If I didn't give a shit about you, I would have brushed you off years ago. But I haven't, and I am an expert at brushing off, so the fact you've clung on like a moody little limpet says a lot. Adam is a good kid. Man. Whatever. But you're family. I guess. Seen as you're making me say it and all, you little shit. I'm not going anywhere.
So get your head out of your arse.

[He stares at this response awhile. It's a lot to read, first of all. A lot of information. And second of all....]
[Well, if Crowley hates dealing with feelings so much- it's probably a good thing this was done over text, because there may be some definite tears on his end. Good tears, at least. Harsh as the words were, it's what he needed to hear. And maybe with that level of harshness. He would have been suspicious if Crowley had been sentimental, like Master had tried to be in those final conversations. But this? it tells him what he needs to hear. His worries were nothing more than irrational, he wasn't going to get left. He was freaking out over something ridiculous.]
[He'll wipe away some of those tears, and let out a little laugh before typing.]
...Did you just call me a little shit?
no subject
I call 'em as I see 'em. Now if you don't mind, I need to use my five minutes of shower time to try and cleanse myself of all these feelings.
no subject
[He almost wants to say thank you, but he knows Crowley hates that, so he bites back the urge. Or rather, just tries to be sneaky about it]
Alright, fine. I guess I was being a little shit with my head in my arse.
You only have five minutes of shower time on your ship?
no subject
That's exactly what you were, yes.
We rarely get around to getting upgrades.
[Because Jove is literally the only one who does anything. ]
no subject
We like to keep up on upgrades. My ship has forty minutes of hot water per hour. And there's a bath with a...jacuzzi setting? Whatever that is. [Lies. He knows exactly what it is and it is awesome]
no subject
Oh come off it, you must have seen the jacuzzi in the castle. It was where the hot springs were. Though good job on the bragging, it's really coming along.
no subject
I wasn't bragging. You can use it sometime if you'd like.
no subject
no subject
[Seriously Crowley. His standards of normal is kind of shot to hell thanks to well...his whole life really.]
no subject
Do any of them keep dead bodies which they talk to?
no subject
[Jesus christ Allen get a new life already.
No, no one does that on the Blue Fish.
Why? Is there someone in the fleet that does that?
no subject
I don't think so? But you can never be too careful. You never really know a lunatic until they announce themselves as one.
...Or start kidnapping people and tying them up in basements.
no subject
No one has a basement here.
